Things to Do In Tallinn in Limited Time

Short of time? You are in luck! Tallinn is one of those compact cities where tourists can cover multiple sights without the requirement to travel far.

There’re plenty of historic & fun sights to behold in the Old Town, which are quite easy to access on foot. Still, Tallinn has a lot more to be discovered apart from the old Town. Let’s have a look at what to see in this small city if you have limited time on hand.

Scale the City Wall:

The City Wall of Tallinn is one of the best preserved in the entire northern Europe area and therefore, a must-see. Walk up on the wall & visualize all the battles that have involved Tallinn. There’re many sections of the wall where you can climb up, for instance at at Hellemann Tower on Müürivahe street or you can also visit 3 towers in quick succession: Sauna, Nunna and Kuldjala are all linked.

Explore the religious history of Tallinn:

Start with St. Olav’s Church, the tallest tower you can scale to get a picturesque sight of Tallinn that will simply take your breath away. Not very far from St. Olav Church lies the Holy Spirit Church that accommodated the poor in medieval eras & led the way to writing novels in Estonian. A must-see is St. Nicholas' (Niguliste) Church, a building that was nearly reuined in the Second World War and now accommodates the Niguliste Museum, one of the branches of the Art Museum of Estonia.
